- I have an antique (mid-'94) Sportster internal 28.8 for which I ordered an
- upgrade ROM about 3.5 weeks ago. The chip arrived today, and exhibits the
- following ati7 info:
-
- Supervisor: 8/29/95 rev 6.0.6
- DSP 7/ 5/95 rev 1.2.4
-
- FWIW, this revision appears to have solved all of the problems that have been
- plaguing me for several months, especially difficult connects to Ascend and
- Multitech equipment, and frequent communications lockups during downloads.
-
- It seems to be less aggressive in negotiating a transmission rate -- I now see
- mostly 24 and 26.4 instead of mostly 26.4 and 28.8, but ati6 tells me that it
- renegotiates upward regularly, and my average throughput appears to be
- significantly higher (especially without all the lockups).
